The coast and the sea
The beaches along the coast of Medici are made of pebbles. Regardless of the crowds in the heart of the season, you can always find a quiet secluded beach to enjoy a bit more intimate atmosphere. Clear sea and beautiful beaches, situated below the hill known as Omis Dinara, along with the view of the island of Brac and the famous quarry in Pucisca make Medici the perfect place for absolute relaxation. In addition to swimming and basking in the sun, we recommend snorkeling towards the wreck of a ship that is only two to twelve meters deep. The shipwreck Metkovic has been a tourist attraction of Medici ever since it sunk in 1964. Today, the stranded ship is home to many underwater inhabitants. In our small port there are three towers that once served as berth for ships. Nowadays, the towers are a reminder of bygone times and form a perfect postcard from Medici.
Old village and trails through nature
Above the road is a typical old Dalmatian village. The first house, which was built in the first half of the 19th century, today bears the memorial plaque made in honour of Ivan Medic, the first Medic who came from Brela, a municipality near Makarska, to what is today known as Medici. Upon entering the old village, you can either turn right or walk straight on through the village. If you turn right, you will stumble upon a trail that leads to the olive trees and onwards to a path to Mimice. Walking along this route, you can enjoy the beautiful unspoiled nature and panoramic view of Medici. If you decide to walk straight through the old village, you will end up on a pathway that leads to some wonderful little caves and a breathtaking view. Walking along these paths, you can find and pick all sorts of wild plants whose taste and scent will remind you of Medici.
